1951
Began in an old garage in the center of browning, on Highway.
1953
Bought three old warehouses for $500. Demolished them with a nail puller, and moved them to two lots he owned adjacent to Museum of the Plains Indians. There, he used the lumber to make a small shop for taxidermy and the casting of miniature animal figurines created by himself. This was the beginning of the present complex studio.
1960
Chosen to mount "Big Medicine", the white buffalo which died of old age on the National Bison Range in Moise, Mt. and now stand in the Montana Historical Society Museum in Helena.
1961
Chosen to mount a rare Desert Bighorn for the Death Valley Museum in California.
1953-63
Best known taxidermist in the state. Especially noted for realism and action in North American big game.
Founding of Scriver Museum of Montana Wildlife
1956
Main hall built and collection begun on full mounts of all major Montana animals, birds and fish; plaster cast of tracks skulls; forged; etc. It is the largest collection in Montana and includes a seven foot grizzly and a two thousand pound bull buffalo. The great majority of the game specimens were shot by Scriver. All were mounted by him.
1961
Opened the art gallery which originally held all the Scriver sculptures, but now has room for only a percentage. An outstanding painter of Western subjects is usually exhibited in the summer.
1963
Open the diorama room. There are thirteen cases averaging six feet by four feet and containing tiny (3-5 inch) model animals in painted and sculptured settings. There is one case for each major game animal, plus one depicting a forest fire and seventy individual models animals.
